US Tour 99

Welcome to my US Tour 99 Web Page. This year, Tim and I focused on the Southwest part of the United States.
Our goal was to visit all of the National Parks in Utah. Something like 70% of Utah is own by the US government with
30% of that land being National Parks. The Southwest is the land of deserts, canyons, arches, and rocks.
This year I took over 300 pictures. I scanned a few to show the major places of our journey.
Some Interesting Statistics
- Total Distance = 6626 miles
- Gas Used = 293.655 gallons
- Miles/Gallon = 22.56. In a Plymonth Montana, a minivan.
- Number of States Visited = 19. They are Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois,
Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia,
Tennessee, and Virginia. I now have been to every state in the US except for North Dakota, Alaska, and
Hawaii.
- Number of National Parks, Monuments, and Recreational Areas = 9. They are Great Sand Dunes National
Monument, Mesa Verde National Park, Cayonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon
National Park, Glen Canyon National Recreational Area, Grand Canyon National Park, Petrified Forest
National Park, and Big Bend National Park
